Are you interested in nurturing mothers during pregnancy and postpartum? Or supporting parents as they introduce solids to their baby? If so, look no further than Oh Baby School of Holistic Nutrition. As a graduate, this program changed my life—not only as a mother, but as a career woman and entrepreneur. Through my credentials, I help mothers and caretakers as they navigate pregnancy, postpartum, and nourishing their babies. I am so grateful to add CNC (Certified Nutrition Consultant) to my Integrative Nutrition Health Coach credentials. Read below for my Oh Baby experience, common questions, and why I absolutely recommend this program.
Oh Baby’s Nutrition Philosophy
Let’s begin with their philosophy. First and foremost, Oh Baby encourages bio-individuality. Meaning, there is no one way of eating that works best for everyone. And thus, the curriculum maintains a flexible perspective. At Oh Baby, their approach prioritizes real food. Everything you’ll learn is rooted in both traditional wisdom and modern research. The curriculum emphasizes nutrient-dense, whole foods. Most importantly, Oh Baby focuses on balance. This includes a combination of fruits and vegetables, complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, high-quality proteins, and traditionally fermented foods.
While their curriculum doesn’t cater exclusively to plant-based diets, it does include specific guidance on how to support clients who choose veganism or vegetarianism. If you eat a plant-forward diet, and / or plan to work with mothers who eat a plant-forward diet, you will be fully equipped with knowledge after graduating from the program.

AN OVERVIEW: WHAT IS OH BABY school of holistic nutrition?
In essence, it’s an innovative approach to nutrition education. Supported by modern science, Oh Baby emphasizes traditional wisdom. The classes are taught by an expert team of holistic nutritionists. They offer certifications in Pregnancy, Postpartum, and Baby Nutrition. You can complete them individually, pair two together, or complete a masters certification in all three. I opted for pairing two together.
Regardless, each certification includes a foundational nutrition unit. This will provide the framework for becoming a Certified Nutrition Consultant. The content is built upon the Oh Baby philosophy for optimal health. Basically, it will ensure you understand the ins and outs of holistic nutrition. There is also a bonus business development unit! This provides you with all the tools and resources you need to set up your own thriving business supporting other women.
Course curriculum
Oh Baby School of Holistic Nutrition courses are 100% online and can be accessed from anywhere in the world. Each weekly module contains a mix of video lessons, required reading material, assignments, client resources, and quizzes. Everything is open note, open book. See here for their curriculum.
Pregnancy Nutrition
This certification will provide you with the knowledge necessary to deeply nourish this critical time of transformation. You’ll support the health of mothers and the development of their growing babies.
Postpartum Nutrition
When a baby is born, a mother is born, and they both need to be nurtured. Become a CNC to help nutritionally replenish women as they begin their journey through motherhood.
Baby Nutrition
A baby’s introduction to solid foods can have a profound impact on their future health and preferences. Help ensure they get a strong start by establishing healthy habits right from the beginning.
Regardless of which certification you choose (or if you choose all three!), each program also includes Foundational Nutrition and Business Development.
What are the career opportunities after graduating?
So many! In fact, client consultations are the only one way to work in this field. While consultations (one-on-one health coaching) is a great way to use your certification, there are so many other opportunities to share this knowledge, serve your community, and generate income as a CNC. Graduates go on to do a myriad of things:
- Hold seminars and webinars
- Create custom and/or set meal plans
- Write articles for various publications
- Write books or eBooks, either informational or recipes
- Run a postpartum food delivery service
- Created products, such as superfood powders for mothers
- Consult with other businesses in product development
- Share their expertise at paid speaking events
- Host events, retreats, or summits—virtual or in person
- Open their own brick and mortar health center for mothers
The best part is, you’re able to choose when and where you work. Many Oh Baby graduates completely replace their corporate salaries. But there are also mothers who choose to work just a few hours a week, while generating additional income. Whether you’re a mom-to-be, are raising children, or want to add to your current career credentials (doula, nurse, personal trainers, etc.), consider becoming a CNC. Ultimately, you’ll be able to do something you’re passionate about.
Do you need prior nutrition education?
Nope! Their program provides you with everything you will require. No prior education is necessary, with the exception of a high school diploma or equivalent. All of their students are given ample support to ensure they have the confidence and knowledge necessary to build a successful career as a Certified Nutrition Consultant. While I graduated from IIN in 2016, that wasn’t necessary before applying to Oh Baby.
is it hard to balance studying with motherhood?
Short answer, no. It is 100% doable. Take it from someone who works full-time and only has part-time childcare. Was I putting in my Oh Baby hours in the early mornings or weekends? Yes, but Oh Baby gets it. Their curriculum didn’t add stress. It was incredible to study through an academy that embraces and supports motherhood (and everything that goes along with it). Whether you need to sit and breastfeed, or jump online and chip away—bit by bit—when motherhood and life permits, it is absolutely possible. This course has been designed for mothers, by a mother. And that is so evident in every part of the course. There is an end date to complete your certification, but they also offer a generous extension. Which, full disclosure, I took advantage of.
HOW AM I USING MY CREDENTIALS?
The beauty of Oh Baby School of Holistic Nutrition lies in the myriad of ways you can use your credentials. Along with starting your own consulting business, you can parter with a birthing center, become a private chef, or host prenatal or postnatal nutrition workshops. If you’re a personal trainer, tack your Oh Baby credentials onto your current expertise! You can even join a parenting group in your neighborhood and teach meal prepping. Said differently: this can become your full-time or part-time job. And you don’t need to know exactly how you’ll use your credentials! Personally, I coach clients, partner with like-minded brands (hi, Athleta!) to create a variety of sponsored content, freelance write, and give wellness presentations. The program truly lays the foundation for anything and everything—partnering with a OB/GYN clinic, creating a steady health coaching business, and more.
